David Friedman, Boston Logic's president and LogicClassroom's presenter, discussed personal branding strategy by breaking it down to two questions: What impression do you currently have with your market? What impression do you want to make?
The importance of blogging was also touched upon - having a blog and writing posts is simply not enough to have an effective web presence. You should stay focused on a particular blog topic (i.e., you may be a realtor specializing in Newton Real Estate) - and after you have identified this niche, it's important to interact with your online community: read other blogs in your niche, add comments, and respond to comments on your blog posts.
The slides for this LogicClassroom are now available to browse at your convenience on SlideShare. Read all about the above mentioned real estate SEO tips, additional social media web strategies, blogging recommendations and much more!
Our next LogicClassroom will be August 10th at 5pm. Check back frequently for our next topic announcement!

Those, especially in small and medium businesses need the most help in this area of marketing and THEY will be the ones to lead our nation out of the current recession as they sprout and grow. Remember, small and medium size businesses create the most jobs in the US, traditionally.
Small businesses need to be taught GEO-LOCAL Social Media Marketing more than anything else. They need to be found by their local customers, first and foremost. A little help with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and some pointers on creating effective directory listings and that’s 9/10th of the job for them. I believe that if they get started with these more critical things, everything else can come later.
If they end up getting bogged down with Twitter and even on Facebook (the results take a lot of time), they may get too discouraged and walk away. That would be a mistake for most of them.
Don’t get me wrong, having an active Facebook fan page or Facebook group is helpful and so is blogging. Both will help one distinguish himself/herself as an expert – BUT -getting found is the #1 thing most small businesses should care about, along with having a professional looking and content rich website. I can’t stress these things enough.
Good lucj with the training and thanks for letting me share my views here!
