New Sequoia Site Launched: Boston Apartment Hunter
Boston Apartment Hunter took advantage of Boston Logic's Modified Template Theme option - taking one of our already excellent design templates and altering it to suit their individual needs. This option strikes a unique balance between an off-the-shelf site theme and a fully custom site.
Modified Template Themes start with one of our readily deployable template themes, and provide a distinctive look while adhering to a compressed timeframe and a lower cost than a fully custom design. Of course, all of the best-in-class functionality of the Sequoia platform is still present under the skin!
Boston Apartment Hunter specializes in apartment and condo rentals in the Boston area.

Tri State Realty Group launches new site on Boston Logic’s Sequoia Platform!
Tri State Realty Group had Boston Logic design a custom Sequoia platform site for their new web presence - adding a unique look and feel as well a few great new optional features we've created.

Adding to the already robust rental property search functionality built into the Sequoia platform, Tri State Realty Group opted to employ a customized graphical search map. This feature allows users to click on the areas of the map they wish to search, select a few quick parameters and get fast, accurate search results tailored to their specific needs. The tool can be customized to suit any desired range of locations and themed to match the style of your site.
In addition, Tri State added an MBTA Search tool to their rental property search roster. This tool, which can be added to any Sequoia site that already uses our Neighborhood Pages feature, allows users to search for rentals near any major MBTA line with one click. This tool can be readily deployed for any site that already utilizes Neighborhood Pages, adding to the already significant boost in search engine rankings the Neighborhood Pages component provides.
Tri State Realty Group specializes in residential sales and rentals in the Boston area.

New Website Launch: WarrenRentals.com
Warren Rentals is redefining the way Bostonians find apartments. The new site provides the most advanced apartment search available in the Boston market. Users can leverage the live search features to search for apartments using an interactive map, including the ability to search by proximity to local colleges and universities.
Additional features include integration of Yelp data on local businesses and public transportation. Leveraging Boston Logic's ONE System, WarrenRentals.com users can also access a host of interactive features to personalize their search experience.
Nick Warren, Broker and Founder of Warren Rentals says, "Boston Logic has continued to be a key factor in our success. Upon creating my new rental company, Warren Rentals, I knew I only had one place to go for the web design and that was Boston Logic. MAR Webinar Questions Answered- Online Marketing and Lead Generation for Real Estate
A couple of weeks ago, I did a webinar of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. At the end of the talk, there were several questions from the remote attendees. I figured I'd type up some answers.
What is the Best Free Web Stat Tracker?
Google Analytics is the standard. We use it for our clients and thoroughly.
How to move an existing wordpress blog but wants to new domain name?
Wordpress has some pretty simple export/import tools that make it easier to grab your content from one blog, shut down that old blog, and import the posts into the new wordpress deploy. It very important that you take down the old blog. So, if you had a blog at realestate.wordpress.com and you moved it to yoursite.com/wordpress, make sure that they old site at wordpress.com is completely gone. Otherwise, the search engines will think that you're posting duplicate content and this will hurt your ranking potential
How can I get people to become fans of my Facebook Business Page?
Start with the people you know. Send them a suggestion to become a fan of your business on Facebook. Next, make sure you have a link on every page of you website to become your fan on Facebook. Also, don't overlook your email signature. Put a link at the bottom of your emails for recipients to click in order to become your fan. Also, include the link in your newsletters or drip emails. As a rule of thumb, when someone is consuming content that you produced, you should present them with an opportunity to follow, friend, become your fan, etc.
With so much information out there, do you find people get turned away when you ask them to register?
This is an age old question. I'll probably write a longer blog post on this soon. Basically, it works like this. If you want the maximum number of leads, then you need to ask them to register before giving them access to the data. If you want to only speak with people who have clicked on a contact form and indicated interest or picked up the phone, then you can leave the doors wide open. We argue that having more leads gives you a greater opportunity to market over time and convert. So, we generally suggest to require sign-ups to view search results.
Can you explain the One System?
The ONE System is Boston Logic's proprietary real estate website platform. It integrates Content Management, Property search, user management, lead management, blogging, neighborhoods pages, live chat, development profiles, deal tracking, and a whole lot more into one platform for Brokers and agents. Click here for more information on the ONE System.
What are some Free or Cheap Mass Email services?
Boston Logic is partnered with both Constant Contact and iContact. We recommend both. Also, our ONE System can be integrated with either platform. Since we're here in MA, and so is Constant Contact, I can tell you that I've met with their CEO and VP and that they are a well run and managed organization. They are also the industry leader with well over 100,000 businesses using them for email marketing.
Do you create Facebook Fan Pages for clients?
We certainly do! Give us a call for more information! 617.266.9166

Effective Real Estate Website Strategy
To be effective, your website should be easy to find, capture users upon arrival, and give them many reasons to keep coming back. Thus, your site becomes the foundation of the user's buying or selling experience.
This, in 2 sentences, sums up the crux of how your real estate website strategy should be designed. So, ask yourself the following questions:
- Can clients that don't already know who we are find our website?
- When a user finds our website, will they become engaged and find the information they are looking for?
- Is my website as good as, or better than, competing websites?
If the answer to any of these questions is no, then you have some work to do. Let's break these down:
1 - If your website can't be found - we call this the billboard in the middle of the woods problem - then it's a pretty big waste of money. Why spend a dime if it's not going to get you anything? Your website is a marketing medium. People have to see your site to ever be converted into a lead. If they can't find and see it, then there's zero possibility that they'll turn into a lead.
2 - When the user arrives, do they find an engaging site? Are they drawn in? Is the site easy to navigate and find what they're looking for? If not, time for a redesign. Now, if you have a highly trafficked website and people are visiting a number of pages, on average, but you're still not getting leads, then you need to implement some more lead acquisition tools on the site. I'll blog about those another time.
3 - Finally, does the user come back? If your leads aren't coming back again and again, then they're going to someone else's site. That's not what you want. You need to give them a reason to come back. They need to find great tools, a friendly and customized interface, and then you need to communicate with them. Email them! Daily property updates, newsletters, follow ups. They all increase your returning visitor traffic.
These are the basics. I'll be writing more about strategy soon. Thanks for reading.
