Is Your Real Estate Website Ready for Google’s Mobile Search Update?

sequoia_iphone_screenshot2It’s no April Fool’s joke. Starting next month, Google will be releasing changes to its search algorithm to include mobile-friendliness as an important ranking factor for search engine results (read full announcement):

“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

This Search Engine Land article shares three important actions  you can take to prepare for the new Google algorithm change. But the basics are that you need to make sure you have a mobile-friendly website that uses proper indexing and tagging so that it can be properly crawled by Google’s bots, check your page load times, and make sure your content and page designs deliver a good user experience on mobile devices.
